Summary
| The Imperial Remnant, also referred to as the Imperial Remnants, Pellaeon's Empire, the true Empire or just the Remnant, was an oligarchical faction formed from various fractured elements of the ousted Galactic Empire. Among its people, it continued to be referred to officially as the Galactic Empire or simply the Empire like its previous incarnation. The Imperial Remnant was located in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy with its planetary capital on Bastion. With the Empire defeat, the New Republic was formed while the Imperial Remnant began to resist the Republic and sought to regain control of the galaxy under its leadership, leading to a renewal of conflict. Under Supreme Commander Gilad Pellaeon, the Remnant began to dramatically lose territory, which eventually forced it to negotiate a treaty for peaceful coexistence with the New Republic. In the years that followed, it entered the Yuuzhan Vong War, and joined the Galactic Alliance. However, during another war, the Remnant departed the Alliance. Soon after, Jagged Fel was elected as Head of State during the transition into a democracy, however Fel would be returned to power and would go on to transform the Remnant into a dynastic monarchy. | ||
